Borrekaupangen Viking Market 2027: dates, tickets and how to get there
Borrekaupangen, the Borre Viking Market, is held in early July at the Midgard Viking Centre in Horten, Norway, among the largest collection of monumental Viking Age burial mounds in Scandinavia, an hour and a half south of Oslo. It is a family market on the same site as the Midgardsblot festival in August.

What happens
Vikings from Norway and abroad set up a trading camp below the Borre mounds: crafts, historically inspired food, staged battles and storytelling about the age when Vestfold was a centre of power. The Midgard Viking Centre next door has a reconstructed great hall, the Gildehall, and an exhibition on the mounds. Traders apply for stalls from March each year.
Getting there
Sandefjord Torp Airport is half an hour away. From Oslo, take the train to Skoppum and a local bus or taxi to Borre, or drive the E18 south. Horten has ferries to Moss across the fjord for anyone coming from the east side.

Midgardsblot in August on the same site, if you want the mounds with metal. The Museum of the Viking Age in Oslo when it reopens.
