The Lofotr Viking Festival is held in August at the Lofotr Viking Museum in Borg, in the Lofoten Islands above the Arctic Circle in Norway. The museum is built around the largest Viking Age longhouse ever found, and the festival is the most remote major Viking event in the Nordics.
The Gjallarstadir Viking Market is held on the first weekend of September at the Nebbursvollen park in Lillestrøm, fifteen minutes by train from Oslo. Run by the Gjallarstadir Viking Society, it is the closest Viking market to Oslo and one of the last of the Norwegian season.
The Viking Age Autumn Market at Gunnes gård is held on the first weekend of September at a reconstructed Viking farm in Upplands Väsby, twenty minutes north of Stockholm by commuter train. Admission is free, around 6,000 people come over the two days, and it is the easiest Viking market to reach from central Stockholm.
The Gudahagen Viking Market closes the Swedish season on the third weekend of September at Gudahagen, an Iron Age settlement site in Näsum, north-east Skåne, half an hour from Kristianstad. It is a well-established market with craftspeople from across Sweden and Europe and a staged battle.
Ale Viking Market opens the Swedish season on the first weekend of May at Ale Vikingagård, a reconstructed Viking farm in Nödinge, twenty-five minutes north of Gothenburg. Traders and reenactors from across Europe use it as the first stop of the year.
