Ribe International Viking Market

Ribe, Denmark

The Ribe International Viking Market runs for a full week at the turn of April and May at Ribe VikingeCenter outside Ribe, Denmark's oldest town, about an hour from Billund Airport. With several hundred Vikings from across Europe it is one of the largest Viking markets on the continent, and it opens the Nordic season each year.

Als Viking Market

Sønderborg, Denmark

The Als Viking Market is held in mid-June at Kær Vestermark in Sønderborg, on the island of Als in southern Denmark, close to the German border. Around 300 Vikings recreate camp life, crafts, combat and storytelling in what the organizers call Denmark's largest non-commercial Viking market.

Moesgaard Viking Days

Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark

Moesgaard Viking Days, the Viking Moot, is held over four days in late July on the beach below Moesgaard Museum, twenty minutes south of Aarhus, Denmark. Running since 1977 and drawing more than a thousand Vikings, it is one of the oldest and largest Viking gatherings in the Nordics and known for its mounted and foot battles.

Aggersborg Viking Craft Meet

Aggersund, Denmark

The Aggersborg Viking Craft Meet is held over the last weekend of August at Aggersborg, the largest of Denmark's ring fortresses, on the Limfjord at Aggersund an hour from Aalborg. It is a craft-focused gathering of around a hundred Vikings with live workshops and guided tours of the UNESCO-listed fortress.

Fyrkat Viking Market

Hobro, Denmark

The Fyrkat Viking Market is held in early August at the Fyrkat ring fortress and Viking museum outside Hobro in North Jutland, Denmark, 45 minutes from Aalborg. Fyrkat is one of Harald Bluetooth's five ring fortresses and part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing since 2023.
